This is one of Jeghier Architect's projects located in the vibrant and growing area of Canggu. The building was designed around 2008 and completed around 2009. Featuring a total of 4 bedrooms, we approached the design of this villa with a unique perspective. Exploring curved roof forms resembling aquatic creatures, symbolizing the villa's proximity to water, namely Canggu Beach.
The pool is crafted artistically using a mix of materials, including Indian stone and green slate stone from Sukabumi, creating a beautiful color palette during the day with a combination pattern design. Other materials include the use of Merbau wood for all frames, doors, and windows, as well as Ulin (ironwood) for decking and outdoor cladding.
For the roof, we utilized American shingles, a product known for its durability and backed by a 25-year warranty. This commercial villa is designed with easily maintainable materials, readily available locally, to facilitate hassle-free maintenance and reduce long-term costs for the villa owner.
Spanning approximately 560 square meters over 3 floors, the top floor serves as a rooftop space for relaxation, enjoying the coastal view, and hosting BBQ gatherings with close friends and family. The first floor includes 1 bedroom, a living room, dining area, staff quarters, genset house, parking, sala/bale, and the pool. About 60% of the land area is dedicated to the garden, creating a lush and green environment for residents to enjoy the landscape freely.
The second floor houses 3 bedrooms, including a master bedroom and 2 children's rooms. All rooms are connected by a walkway, unifying the three spaces. Seasonal fruit trees and favorite plants are strategically planted, ensuring the villa enjoys fresh produce directly from its own garden at any time.
