This is the story behind the architectural design, where every decision of form and space has a strong rationale. Despite facing challenges and uncertainty, this resort stands as evidence of Jeghier Architect's dedication and creativity in delivering solutions that are not only functional but also aesthetic, creating a profound experience for every visitor.
Through a meticulous planning process, this resort is scheduled for completion in 2024, with construction commencing gradually in 2019. However, a few months into the construction, the world was confronted with the Covid-19 pandemic, halting the wheels of the economy and leaving uncertainty throughout the project journey.
Situated at the high altitude of Bedugul, Bali, the resort offers breathtaking views at the highest level, as if floating above the clouds. The cool temperature became a paramount consideration in selecting the building's form, including materials resistant to cold weather and the high humidity in the location.
The conditions of fertile, soft soil, with a hard soil depth exceeding 17 meters, coupled with the difficulty of obtaining groundwater, posed challenges to construction costs. Nevertheless, through careful soil testing and meticulous material selection, these challenges were overcome with appropriate solutions.
Designers faced numerous challenges, forcing this design to become more mature and maximal in every decision. The resort's three shareholders, each with their own stake, inspired the triangular structure and roof with three different sizes. The ground-touching roof was introduced to protect against strong winds and the dominant cold temperatures throughout the day.
