Designing a structure with the functions of a restaurant, gallery, and convention hall to support Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE), with a client who is a jewelry designer, presents its own unique challenges. The concept is derived from various backgrounds, incorporating insights from the client's habits in jewelry design and extracurricular activities. It involves accommodating the client's playful preferences and translating them into the design, resulting in forms that are free and not confined to specific modules. Dynamic lines reflect the idea that design knows no bounds and is always evolving. Natural materials, especially stone and wood, are selected as the main materials and patterns.
The creation of the Dragon Museum stands as a phenomenal work by a local designer, showcasing remarkable artistic value. The dragon sculptures took over 5 years to complete, utilizing more than 7,000 grams of silver. This endeavor demanded high dedication and a considerable investment to bring the museum to life. The client envisions this project as an ongoing initiative, aiming to explore literature and intricate Balinese ornaments that will contribute to the cultural history of Bali, each piece carefully collected.
Jeghier Architect, appointed by the client, takes pride in collaborating to realize this dream. UC Silver stands as one of the premier silver factories in Asia, featuring not only production facilities but also meeting rooms, a gift shop, a restaurant, and a museum that attracts thousands of visitors daily. This project signifies a continuous effort to delve into Balinese literature and detailed ornaments, preserving the cultural history of Bali one piece at a time."
