YEAR : 2024
This project is an evolution of a previous design, facing the commonplace issue of limited land, exacerbated by adherence to Bali Province government regulations. A prior project designed around 2017 thrived successfully, resulting in high parking demand and traffic. The parking-to-visitor ratio became irrelevant due to the consistently crowded conditions. Existing structures, such as the vitas building, posed challenges that needed solutions without demolishing or relocating them, including the Shrine and genset room, which had to retain their original locations and positions.
Therefore, the client decided to expand the parking facility to accommodate a higher volume of vehicles. Given the constrained land and the high cost of real estate, the investment in this structure was deemed worthwhile if it not only served as a parking facility but also generated substantial revenue for the company.
After extensive discussions and meticulous calculations, it was agreed to enhance the building's utility by incorporating supporting facilities. The decision was to create a restaurant, and our team endeavored to make the building as attractive as the previous design. We aimed to turn this structure into a new icon, providing a fresh experience for passersby on the main road and regular visitors to the Krisna Souvenir Center on Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai.
To alleviate traffic, the entrance was elongated, and the main entrance designed to accommodate up to 12 vehicles simultaneously. The first floor serves as the parking structure, followed by a basement for additional parking below.
Wood-like materials were meticulously crafted to seamlessly integrate with the existing building. The use of simple and modern lines makes this structure a source of pride for our architectural team. We are delighted that our client embraces unconventional explorations in design, fostering a desire to create something different, beautiful, and distinctive. We hope this building becomes a source of pride for us all.
Some may wonder where we infused Balinese architectural features into this structure. For us, it is all architecture. While not every aspect is explicitly incorporated into the design, the meaning is still present, carefully considered with multiple dimensions that may not be immediately apparent.
